Laina was a little crabby on MLK day. Terri and I ran a bunch of errands at the mall and got a few things on sale. Eating at The Olive Garden didn't improve her disposition at all.

I wasn't in the market for more Christmas ornaments but when I saw these at Pier 1 I had to have them. Regular price $4.50 but on sale for $1.08!

My Heroic Niece!

One of my kids just got word through facebook that her cousin, (my niece) who lives in Oregon, and does emergency foster care picked up a couple little boys last night at a police department. She and her husband may have them for a day or two or a week or two until things get sorted out. Wow! I think that is really great that some people put their lives on hold at a moments notice and do something heroic like take care of two little boys that they've never seen before. I know they will take great care of them and then say good bye when the time comes. Takes a special kind of person. Andrea and Paul you are special!

OUCH!

Laina ended up in the emergency room and with 3 stitches Saturday night after falling on to the corner of a wooden shoe rack.

We got to talking about past emergency room visits for the girls. The tally:

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

We had Grandpa's birthday dinner at Monica's, his favorite restaurant. I had mac n' cheese and Grandpa had pasta with seafood. Then we all shared chocolate cake and tiramisu for dessert. Yummy!
