Home Sweet Home

I am home after spending a week with my mom in Oregon after her heart surgery. While it was nice spending time with my parents "there's no place like home"!!! While this isn't my house I think its pretty cool. Barry, this is what I'd like for Christmas. Housekeeper and cook included.

Wild Game Feed

Our church has its annual wild game feed on Saturday. It's usually a pretty good time and we raise a little money. I'm not home this year to help with anything. I hope Barry remembered to take the 20 pheasants out of our freezer to thaw!

Last weekend Laina helped Grandpa give Elsa a bath.

A Nonsensical Tune

Silly Little Laina

Laina likes to wear my reading glasses around the house and say "your head looks big grandma". Her favorite pastime lately has been playing school. Sunday I was the teacher and had the "kids" (aka: Barry, Terri, and Laina) name something that begins with the letter 'o'. Barry said organ, Terri said octapus and Laina thought for a few seconds and said "Oh Lord"! She was dead serious and was extremely embarassed when we all burst out laughing.

Down "Under"

My mom's surgery seems to have gone well. She will be kept "under" until tomorrow morning. I wonder what she will think when she wakes up and it will be the day after her surgery! They decided to keep her anesthetized to lessen her pain and keep her blood pressure down. Here are my mom and dad about a month ago in New York City.

We Heart You Mom!

My mom undergoes open heart surgery Monday at 9:00 CST to repair or replace her aortic valve. The surgery will take between 4 and 5 hours. Good luck mom. Prayers welcome.

Bringin' Out the Big Guns

The flu big has bitten at the Davies household. So far just Terri. Of course. Terri always gets a flu shot and she always gets the flu anyway. One year after getting the flu shot she got the flu twice. Bridget never gets a flu shot and she never gets the flu. Terri does in home day care, a fairly high energy occupation. Needless to say she had to call all her parents. Tom could not get off of work so that leaves granny to entertain Laina. I bought this Barbie playground a few months back on sale and was saving it for the 'right' occassion. The right occassion was today. She loved it and it entertained her for a long time. It only took me about 30 minutes to get all of the pieces dis-connected from the box!

The Dove

There is a store in Riverside called Vintageville. I walked in the other day and spotted this old picture. It has the original frame and original 'wavy' glass. I love it and I'm glad I stopped in. The title of the picture which you can't see but is under the picture is: The Dove.
