New Kid on the Block

We just got home from eating at my nephews new restaurant in downtown Iowa City, Clinton Street Social Club. Even if I am a little biased you should definately check it out the next time you want to try something new. One of the interesting facts on the above FYI card about the restaurant which I realize you can't read is that the light fixtures are 'repurposed' chicken feeders. The menu is a bit different than your standard burgers, fries and tenderloins. I had an Oyster "Po' Boy" Sandwich with Roasted Pumpkin Bisque. Barry had Duck Sausage Corn Dogs, Mushroom Soup and Deviled Eggs. We also had some delicious drinks including one called The Blood of Buenos Aires. Don't forget to have freshly ground and brewed coffee roasted by Wake Up Iowa City. It's delicious.

Bridget and Leila Wearing the Same Dress

 For some unknown reason I saved this baby dress for 30 years. Perhaps so I could post these pictures of Leila (top) and Bridget (bottom) wearing the dress. The picture below was taken in 1982--when the word "blog" hadn't been invented yet.

Mystery Reader

 Last Friday while I was babysitting Leila I went in to Bridget's 2nd grade classroom to read a book as the 'mystery reader'. I chose to read a book that I had just read to Laina a few days before. It's pretty long and we had to take a stretching break half way through the book. It took about 30 minutes to read.

Leila was pretty popular in the classroom too!
