Shoe Box Valentine Box

As a child each valentines day for our party at school my classmates would come with Castle Valentines boxes complete with moats or pirate ship boxes complete with pirates (yes, this was before the time when you had to worry about hurting a pirates feelings--back in the 60's "political correctness" had not been invented). Winnie the Pooh Honey Hives or I even remember one that was a "skyscraper" valentines box. Coming from a small (very small) town in Minnesota skyscrapers were a sight to behold. I, however, always had the same box--which was a shoe box covered with tin foil and paper hearts glued on. Every Year. Coming from a family of 7 kids I think elaborate valentines day boxes were a bit down there on my mom's list of things to do!

Leg Warmers

After a long spell of no crocheting I finally picked up my hook again and crocheted these little legwarmers for Leila. Next up: Legwarmers for Malin.

Guests Welcome

After having guests forget items like toothbrushes and toothpaste I decided to assemble a small 'guest basket' filled with almost anything a guest may have forgotten. I have a few more items to add--maybe a small tylenol and ibuprofen--maybe a headband for face washing. We have 3 extra bedrooms and a basket full of essentials so...............guests are welcome!
