Be Thankful for Angels

We're so happy to have this little angel with us this Thanksgiving. We knew nothing about Hudson Thomas last Thanksgiving. He has captured out hearts with his angelic demeanor.

This little angel has been with us for a while and we couldn't be luckier to have her. Her mischievous antics keep us on our toes.

It's always nice to have some lounging pooches lying around! They didn't even have any turkey but I guess they all needed naps too!

HAPPY THANKSGIVNG

"I ate too much turkey,
I ate too much corn,
I ate too much pudding and pie,
I'm stuffed up with muffins
and much too much stuffin',
I'm probably going to die.

I piled up my plate
and I ate and I ate,
but I wish I had known when to stop,
for I'm so crammed with yams,
sauces, gravies, and jams
that my buttons are starting to pop.

I'm full of tomatoes
and french fried potatoes,
my stomach is swollen and sore,
but there's still some dessert,
so I guess it won't hurt
if I eat just a little bit more."

Celebrating 29 years of Bridget

Laina took this picture at our birthday celebration for Bridget on Saturday night. Barry smoked ribs and Terri brought her family favorite twice baked potatoes. I just roasted a hodge podge of vegetables and Sarah brought Bridget's favorite....cherry cheese pie.

Other pictures from the celebration: Tom and his baby.

Jeremy and his baby,

And Sarah with two babies.

Spooning

Laina and I made these tree ornaments out of bent spoons, cross stickers, stick on 'jewels', glitter and ribbon. Thanks to my friend Cindy for the idea and supplies. She made them with a Sunday School class last Sunday.

Are We Ready?

It's hard to believe after the last two days of highs in the 70's that it could soon look like this.

Thumbs Down for Turnovers

I bought these turnovers for Laina and I to make a couple of weekends ago. I remembered my mom getting them for us once in a while as a kid. I remember thinking they were pretty darn delicious. I'm not sure if my taste buds have become a little more particular over the years or if the ingedients have become subpar.

They are still kind of fun to make and Laina could really do most everything herself. Here she is starting to make the turnovers after dressing herself stylishly for the occassion.
While the turnover baked she worked on some painting.

Frosting the turnovers.

Eating the S'more that she wanted me to make her in the microwave after tasting turnovers that she deemed 'disgusting'. I think its the filling that has changed from what used to be similar to pie filling with whole chunks of fruit into a thick paste that wasn't very good at all. Our assessment: fun to make but not to eat!

Good Morning!

Taken from our deck a couple weeks ago at about 6:30 in the morning.
