The Big Sleep

I really wanted to title this post "The Big Sleep" because I just got done listing to the audio book on my ipod. In the book and the movie 'the big sleep' refers to death but in this post it just refers to a long hybernation. Good bye pool...............

Canning Lunatics

We have lately been canning everything we can think of to use up tomatoes. So far Barry has canned 24 quarts of spaghetti sauce, some salsa and 14 pints of "Bloody Barry Mix", his own rendition of spicy V8 juice that he mixes with beer. I have canned 14 quarts of tomato soup. If we have to be quarantined because of swine flu--we are ready.

For some reason that only dogs would know--one day Elsa made this big mess in Barry's closet. Go figure!

Beer Margaritas

We served these beer margaritas last Friday to friends. If you want to try them here is the recipe:

1 (12 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
12 ounches tequila
12 ounces water
12 ouches beer
ice
lime wedges

Pour limeade, tequila, water, and beer into a large pitcher. Stir until well blended and limeade has melted. Add plenty of ice, and garnish with lime wedges.

First Day of Preschool

Laina's first day of preschool sounds like a big success. There were no tears from Laina and just a few from Terri. She said she colored, painted, had stories and birthday treats. Here she is outside the front door of her house ready to go!
