Where's the Pot of Gold?

I took this picture from our deck of an odd looking rainbow Saturday late afternoon.

One Lone Plum and a Caterpillar

We have a plum tree that we planted a year or two ago. This summer it had one lone plum on it. I ate it the other day and it was good! Maybe next year we'll get more.

Garden booty. Don't mind the pears in the background. They are not from our garden!

After I came up from the garden I discovered this little guy on me. I watched him for awhile before I took him out and set him free.

Not so Easy Bake Oven

With Christmas just around the corner I will give parents with tchildren age 5-10 years old a tip. Easy Bake Ovens are not really easy.

They are hard, messy and a little dangerous. Those pans get really hot and are hard to maneuver in and out of the oven. And the cookies and cakes really aren't very good.

While we were waiting for our cookie to bake with a light bulb Laina calmly stepped on a stool at the sink, wet her hands and did this to Hudson's hair.

Kids Day at the Farmers Market

With help from the honey man Laina was able to identify the Queen Bee.
Laina was genuinely interested in the firetrucks, police cars and ambulances. She waited patiently in line for a long time to get to go inside of each vehicle.

Learning about the role worms play in composting.

At this demonstration she got a little sample of sheeps wool.

Planting seeds and watering her garden.

Milking a cow.

Everyone loved the piglets.

Weekend Happenings

Malin takes a ride on a zebra.

Malin meets Grandma Twila.

Hudson and Malin confer.

Laina babysits Malin while we get ready for Bridgets baby shower.

The Carrott Cake made by Tip Top Cakes matched the shower invitations and was delicious.

Baby Leila (pronounced Lay la) received alot of cool gifts and everyone was asked to bring a book instead of a card.

This is low even for Walmart. Give the poor fish a little more water for crying out loud! Disgusting!

A Day to Remember

A day to remember where you were and what you were doing when "you found out". You get caught up in watching all the 9/11 stories on TV until you get so sad you have to stop.

Luckily it was also a day of celebration for us. Happy Birthday to Terri and Laina.

Hudson thought it was only fair that he open some presents. After all Laina helped him on his birthday!

Malin thinks birthday parties are fun.

Bridget scored big time when we found 2 more boxes of baby clothes in the closet that nobody remembered we had.

And best of all------we're officially a two high chair family. Gotta love those babies! Can't wait for the next one.

What's in Ned's Head?

Laina and I played this game last Saturday. Anyone else familiar with this silly game?

You draw cards that tell you what to "find" and reach into "Ned's" mouth or ears and search for the object.

Some of the objects to find? Ned's dirty Q Tip, rat, dirty diaper, Ned's lost lunch (fake vomit) and it comes with blank cards to add your own disgusting things.

How to Eat a Cupcake-----------Hudson Style

Hmmmm-whats this? Doesn't look like the usual broccoli or cauliflower.

I think I'll try it.

Doesn't taste like broccoli or cauliflower either!

I can't believe they're letting me do this.

Well it is my birthday. Maybe thats why!?!

Mom and Dad have to double team me to get me cleaned up. Serves them right. What do they expect when they give a just barely 1 year old a cupcake? I wonder if I have to wait a whole year to get another one?
