Smelly Feet

Malin spent Sunday afternoon with us while her mom and dad were taking a class and we did another fall craft . She thought it was great fun to have her feet painted and even learned how to make orange paint out of red and yellow .

Toddler Craft Time with Malin

It's always a challenge to find crafts that toddlers can actually do. This one rates way up there on my list. Collecting the leaves is fun. Grandma cut the inside circle out from a paper plate ( the cheap thin ones work best). Then just glue the leaves--stems toward the center, let it dry, cut the stems off & add a bow. You could also add a loop of ribbon at the top for hanging.

Give a Hoot

Laina and I did this owl project on Saturday while Hudson was taking his nap. I read the instructions to her step by step and every step of the way she didn't want to do what the instructions said but had her own ideas about how she wanted to do it. That's Laina!

Part of it is sheer stubbornness and part of it is intelligence and creativity. A sheep she is not. If it says red paper--she wants blue. If it says cut--she wants to tape. If it says large--she wants small.

And she likes to add a little of her own creative flair that aren't on the instructions at all.

She added another tree and branch after this picture was taken but I think it turned out pretty well and she was happy with it. It was an exercise of patience for me because I am a little bit of a control freak but Laina is helping me learn to back off and let her creative juices flow:)

Watchful Obsession

Elsa is making herself sick keeping watch over whatever is under our shed. She will barely come in to eat & sleep. When she does come in she cries & whines for us to come out with her to look under the shed. I cannot see or hear anything but have no  doubt THERE IS SOMETHING UNDER THERE.
